Well...as the famous saying goes...."there are those who write and those who don't" (ok I just made that up but I definitely fall into the latter group!).
Actually, I haven't been or done anything that special recently so have been stumped for subjects to write home about! Job hunting has occupied a lot of my time since Christmas, and now that is over and I have been able to sit back and relax...or so I thought. The reality is I have been panicking about my next job - Junior / Senior High School Teaching - and having a lot of fun with leaving parties! All of my main group of friends have now left or are leaving the company that brought us all to Japan and moving on to newer and altogether greener pastures. Its funny that we seem to do everything together and the natural 'lifespan' of most expats here seems to fall into a similar pattern: get a useful but ultimately unchallenging teaching job for a year or two, whilst travelling and partying a lot, move on to something more serious and career-sensible whilst living a life that could be done anywhere - going tut pub at the weekend, doing washing on sundays etc - and then I guess eventually making one of three decisions - go home, work somewhere else, or stay in Japan forever! If you wanna know which of these categories I fall into - you'll have to wait and see!
So thats that really, but life is rosy. Cherry blossom season is nearly here and Japan is beautiful in spring - perfect time to visit in fact. Anyone sensing the hint....? !!!

Heyhey!
I'd almost started to give up hope that you'd write again lol.
Well I hope the situation isn't too stressful, and that you find/have found a good school to work at.
Of course Weffy and I would love to come visit, but we are simply too skint these days... :-(
Enjoy those sakura :-)

Hello long-lost lovely!
How is your new job? And cherry blossom season? Omigod, I am getting worryingly obsessed with all things Japanese at the moment.. Been drinking green tea, reading Haruki Murakami novels and basically wishing I was there! I have actually seen lost in translation about 5 times now, and I still love it! If that boyfriend of mine doesn't take me there soon there'll be trouble..
Hope you're still enjoying everything
Write again soon!
Steph
